@P0Pilot When I hear or read the term hanged or lynched I envision someone with a rope around their neck dying from suffocation or a broken neck. When I hear that the authorities hanged someone I see gallows. When I hear that a mob hanged or lynched someone I see a tree limb. It doesn't matter if it happened two hundred years ago or yesterday it's the same. I never saw a hanging or a lynching. I've read and been told that it happens. Where did I get such an idea from?

@P0Pilot In 1968 an ossuary was found near Jerusalem at Giv’at ha-Mivtar, and contained the remains of Johanan ben Ha-galgol, who was crucified by the Romans sometime in the 3rd century, A.D. Among the evidence found was a 6-inch iron spike driven through the sides of his heels; the remains of an olive wood plank placed on his foot prior to nail being driven in was also found, evidently acting as a "washer" to prevent the victim from pulling his foot off the nail.

@wbarquez I do not believe Caiaphas kept them as keepsakes. Perhaps one of Jesus’ followers put them there. It may have been Joseph of Arimathethaea who removed the body or maybe a Roman follower of Jesus. Someone who had access to the nails. I think the nails were put there as sort of a slap in the face of Caiaphas."You are long dead and the ministry of Jesus lives on. You failed. Here is something to remember Jesus by." So the nails were put in his grave.

@P0Pilot there is 2 witnesses 1 from OT 1 from NT : Zechariah 13:6 "And one shall say to him, What are these wounds in your hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends".wich is referring to Luke 24:39 "Behold my hands and my feet that it is I myself handle me and see for a spirit hath not flesh and bones as ye see me have" nuf said

Pontius Pilate publicly defended Jesus against a Jewish mob until a riot was about to form (Mt 27:24). Roman centurions refer to Jesus as Lord (Mt 8:8, Lk 7:6) and Son of God (Mt 27:54, Mk 15:39). Jesus refers to a centurion as having the greatest faith in Israel (Mt 8:10-13, Lk 7:9). A Roman centurion declared his supposed death (Mk 15:45). Jesus survived a Roman crucifixion. Jesus taught blessed are the peacemakers, turn the other cheek, love your enemies, give unto Caesar (taxes to Rome).

The reason non-use of nails is important relates to the written accounts of Jesus appearing live after the crucifixion (see the post-appearance story in Luke, which mentions nothing about nail wounds). It also relates to the Roman manipulation of Jewish religious forces (main source of resistance to their rule and collecting taxes) inadvertantly resulting in the birth of Christianity. The first 3 Gospels (written decades before John) mention no form of physical violence to Jesus on the cross.

well, nails did not exist till the crucifiction of Jesus, so they invented nails only to crucify him :D - (joke)

These were found in the preachers tomb. He was the guy that ordered for jesus's crusification (can't spell it)

@MysteryHistorydotTV This was the priest that ordered them to kill jesus thats why. Im not christian but I dont think jesus is fake either nor any religion is.

They crucified lots of people......
With all due respect, what would the nails of a crucified criminal do in the tomb of a high priest? Caiaphas had a metanoia for condemning Christ? Is this wishful thinking or is somebody just joking?
