At a location at the Seychelles Island of Mahe, in the Indian Ocean, Barbora Panovski demostrates how her Arab gelding Monsoon loves to swim in the surf. Her Utegangar Riding Center was a magnet for world-class equine photographers eager to take advantage of the unique photogenic location.

Barbora has since moved to the Czech Republic.

She took the difficult decision to close the yard, although the horses are still living in Seychelles under different ownership.

Now we only have the movie to remember those great days riding arab horses in the surf in the Tropical Indian Ocean.

  • who sings this song you have playing???

  • @roliver31483

The original soundtrack was James Morrison's "Undiscovered" That was blocked by You Tube and the current song substituted from the You Tube "Audio Swap" list.

Sadly, the name of the artist was mislaid.

Sorry but thanks for showing interest.

  • Being tall such as 6ft is an advantage in swimming ?

  • @TheLeilisa

It helps for the horse to be tall in deep water.

For the rider to be short is OK

  • I love the utegangar stables, I adore the chesnut stallion known fondly of as Tyfoon, he is a simply remarkable arabian, as was the bond he and Barbora shared.

  • Hi @Himolly12 ,

Did you know that Monsoon, the gelding in the movie, sadly died recently?

  • I tried going to the website and it says it is closed. is it just the site or the whole riding center?

  • someday..

  • @armasan65

Arab horses in a hot climate have relatively short hair - it doesn't feel pinchy, it feels very slippery - you need to be in balance and grip with your lower leg to avoid falling off when riding bareback in water.

  • how does the wet horse hair feel does it feel pinchy :-)

  • @athothits

    The horse's name is Monsoon
