  • I personally used a hacksaw to defeat a pretty good cable lock. It took about 8 seconds.

  • I agree totally, cable locks are worse than useless, they offer a false impression of security. U locks are fine as long as they don't have radial keys, are of a decent size,16mm or more, and are used correctly, i.e. the D section must be filled with frame, wheel, post, anything really, as long as there isn't enough room to get an orange in there (that's the size of a mini jack) you'll be fine.
