This exercise is great for activating and strenghtening the serratus anterior muscle.
It makes a great warm up and is an excellent exercise for injury prevention and shoulder health.
While in the push up position try to "push the floor away" to contract the serratus.
Then lower the body by letting the shoulder blades come together, but DO NOT bend the elbows.
