Linear gospel fill in 16th note triplets. This is TWO bars, so remember, there's a total of 48 notes here. Pause the video when the sticking pattern comes up and write it down! Feel free to comment with any questions or suggestions. Thanks!

  • hey man what method did you use to create that? did you start with a rudiment or just playing round with a combination of different stickings?

  • @robbocainio

Definitely just used different sticking combos. Some stuff was older, and other stuff was written to fit. Didn't have rudiments in mind when I was mapping this out though.

  • Adam, how is your snare tuned? Like batter tuned tighter than reso? or the other way around? I dig that it has a bit of ring to it. I have been using a tension watch to keep consistant tuning for recordings, if you have one, what tension do you set your snare at?

  • @ryhad155

Snare is actually not tuned at all in this video! Lol I typically keep a loose reso and a super tight batter. I have a Drum Dial that I use to tune for recordings. I'm not sure what the increments are, but according to the drum dial at set each lug at a tension level of 90 on batter and around 74

  • @ryhad155

***and around 75 for reso. Sorry I didn't mean to send that last response. Youtubing from a phone isn't always easy. Lol

Broken down even more!? Lol I could, but this would be a like a 20 minute lesson, teaching 48 linear notes one by one. Pause the video at the sticking 1:05 and write down the pattern. Then watch when the fill is played slower to see where the strokes are placed. You can do it!

  • @adamtuminaro89 Thanks for the reply Adam! I'll give that tuning a try, I have had my snare at about 80 for the batter and 70 for the reso, I have been wanting to experiment with different tunings!

  • Killin it man!
