Patent pending, Fujitsu displayed their FLEPia Electric Paper that is the worlds first zero power informational terminal.

FLEPia uses Fujitsu's flexible color electronic paper which works by slowly rewriting the next page over the previous one. Information can be downloaded from the internet for easy viewing and when fully charged 3,000 pages with 8 colors can be rewritten.

The FLEPia can store up to 4 GB of data, roughly on year's worth of newspapers, display 4,096 colors, has good resolution at 768 x 1,024 XGA pixels.

This can be used in many places such as the office to stop paper waste from memos, as a replacement for newspapers, books, or comic books, in stores to replace posters or advertisements since it can be changed easily, or at factories and store rooms to instead of invoices.

  • @sammyboy123456 Thank goodness theres more of us!

  • нефига не видно одни блики, пусть дорабатывают

  • I'll wait for a better epaper reader. This one appears too glossy and updates slowly. Glossiness alone is a deal breaker since it makes readability more difficult.

  • Thanks to ingenious Japanese there is iPad

  • @sammyboy123456 Learn how to spell, moron.

  • This is much different than an iPad. The iPad is nothing more than a giant iPod, which is essentially the touch screen technology you first saw emerging in the 90's at shopping tills in malls. I'm not denouncing the iPod. So don't state that I'm down playing it.

But e-ink uses pigment that is pulled via some kind of electro magnet to the screen. So energy is only used to re-draw the image. It's kind of like a laser printer in that sense.

  • The Ebook with elec paper lasts for upto a month....

  • porn on a paper

  • Teacher, my dog pissed on my e-paper so no homework?

  • 3 years later, Apple manages to steal the idea and stamp an apple on its back and name it Ipad! and sell it to us for $900!
