i also use the HM-TA1 for my guitar stuff :) i play through a 120watt line 6 spider and just put the camera on-top of the amp on a small tripod. I find it picks up the tone much better. I'm not sure if it is the amp vibrations resonating through the tripod to give better bass or something but its how i set mine up :) i found it to sound the best
