George Shearing & Mel Torme - Medley At Newport

George Shearing, one of the great jazz painist of any time, passed away on February 14, 2011.He was 91 years of age. Here he accompanies The Velvet Fog, Mel Torme, at the JVC Jazz Festival at Newport. I am not certain of the year. These two gentlemen of jazz knocked them out during this set as they most often did. What a wonderful legacy they have left us.

Thanks for posting this. I was in the audience for this amazing performance at the Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport during the JVC Jazz Featival. I believe it was 1986.
