I saw a comment earlier about Jeffery Hyde Thompson, and how he would sound good covering this song. I'm glad somebody else found this guy. His cover of Hallelujah is the closest it gets to Jeff Buckley. Gives me chills.

Also, I did not mean I do not find it a guinine song, since they admitted it is based on this certain chopin song. It's just that for me there is a difference in between actually creating something new and using something as a base. If i take a rembrand painting and change tads about it (assuming i can paint decently) it will problably look better than If i started from scratch

its not recycled or whatever you want to call it. its created and genuine as anything else. Even Mozart must have had influences.

influenced is in my opinion an understatement if you listen to the original song.

Where "influences" starts and "recycles" begins is of course a personal thing of course.

If you take muse for example compared to radiohead, it is clear they went in the same direction in the style, but there are no songs which are almost the same, have the same (uncommon) chord progressions or melody
With this song the resemblance is so obvious
Your teacher may influence you, but it does not make you a clone

Just listen to chopin'ss Prelude in E-Minor (op.28 no. 4), You can find it on youtube. It is so much alike...

you have been decieved or misled. This song from Radio head has 4 chords is structured verse - bridge and chorus. Having this piece compared to that of Chopin is a master marketing move from Radiohead. Dont read to much into it. Do what you must do and take it as it is.

btw: Chopin signature was his chromatic stuff. I just had a look at the music for this Radio head piece and its not chromatic just standard 4 chord progression that descends (giving the feeling of sadness and emptiness). The Chopin harmony piece also descends but thats the only technical similarity that I can find.
