Why is it that the GoP is portrayed as the party of the rich? Republicans just believe that given the opportunity, anyone can work hard and become rich, so there is no use helping the poor who can help themselves.

That doesn't necessarily mean that he would have more than one wife if it wasn't against the law. The Mormon Church abadoned plural marriage in 1890, and not every Mormon then practiced polygamy, less than half actually. And most of the polygamists had 2 wives. Only a few had a dozen or more.

You are right. The others have had more than one but never more than one at a time. Romney has had only one wife (his high school sweetheart) but as a Mormon he could have more than one (if it wasn't against the law).
