@LisaGirl1959 The key word is "Investment", which is the ONLY MOTIVATION behind any modern day company, not anything else.
Old Tom never dreamed it would get as big as it did, subconsciously, he was still behind the counter in his store. Obviously he believed in his ice cream and no matter how big it got, mentally he was still scanning the store around to make sure the glass in the windows was spotless. Modern day companies have ABSOLUTELY NO CONCEPT of such an approach. Their bible is profit

Too bad more folks didn't go to that Carvel. That is where Tom Carvel's ice cream truck broke down, he sold his ice cream off his truck, then decided to open a store there. He invented the first soft serve ice cream machine too! I heard that Carvel Corp. was approached to buy this building, for historical purposes, but declined. Carvel Corporation was built by these local stores, but the newer investment companies that owned/own Carvel sadly don't seem to see that.

I used to live in Hartsdale, i remember that. I use to stop at the gas station at the intersection a ton, same with the CVS down there.
