HEAVEN FORBID residents of BH be victims of the 99 cent stores...that would force them to realize that they live in a city where homelessness is apparent and pain is tangible.

Anyone else confused how a human being can get paid millions of dollars for acting, and those who are making a difference (teachers, nurses, caregivers social workers etc) get paid squat?

Our priorities are sick.

What's funny is that a lot of wealthy people shop at the 99 Cents Store. There are always a fleet of expensive cars parked in the lot. Who doesn't like a bargain?!

Do you understand how these things work? Teacher's and such are government paid jobs. Of course they aren't going to be on the same pay scale as someone holding a job such as acting. Also acting isn't easy and it also isn't exactly a job anyone can do or get into like teaching.

the homeless are more than ever all over the nicer areas.. our condo management company had to add a FENCE b/c homeless were on our lawn bringing carts one asked me if he could use my shower. i cannot let anyone use my shower.they were going thru our recyclinging cernter in the garage digging thru garbage for bottles. now they moved the recycle center near the cameras. u would have 2 be RAY charles not them. RIVERSIDE, STOCKTON CALIFornia turning into DETROIT so is los angeles..

omg where do you know where? i love NPR. i hope they keep it clean.. maybe they can get some better stuff in the BH location b/c Fairfax/Wilshire is CRAZY

thats so true... a lot of business owners and here in LA i think many would starve to DEATH w/o 99cents store. do they have them in NY

NPR / KPCC reported today that the 99cents Only store is really going to open a store in Beverly Hills! Five years ago we all laughed at this video and now look....

Nobody comes to The U.S.A with his pockets full of money; all of those bums with money are called by the Europeans: "hilly billies"; "white trash" ; "trailer trash"; "Europen-rejects" and many other non-gratous names...What you find there are mostly Hitler rejects: Jews, Arabs, "actors", Gypsies...Money? probably; Class? no.

Beverly Hills: land of immigrants; just like the rest of the country. How soon they forget their low class-miserable roots. In the 1930s-60s, there used to be signs posted on many stores all over the Hollywood area, that read: "No dogs or actors allowed". Actors are considered desirable and are admired only by the lowest social and economic class of any country; Beverly Hills is packed with people better known for their money, vices, scandalous life... than for their class.

If you are refering to the 99 cents store located on Wilshire Blvd. -just west of La brea- I would tell you that Beverly Hills, is actually located West of Doheney Drive.....That 99 cents store is actually located at some sort of a limbo-land (part of the City of Los Angeles), located between Beverly Hills and Hancock Park ....Real Estate in the commercial part of Beverly Hills is extremely expensive; how many 99 cents items would they have to sell every day to pay the rent?

why do these ppl seem upset that there's gonna be a 99cent store!?!?!!!! i recently bought $1.00 sunglasses at a dollar store and they looked just like the ones my cousin got, but he paid $350.00!!!! mine felt cheap though... but who got the deal!??!!
