Part 1 of 6: In one of the most aggressive fights ever, Nigel Benn wins as Gerald McClellan takes a knee in the 10th Round and is unable to continue. It would be the end of McClellan's career as he collapsed after the fight. He was rushed to the hospital where he spent 11 days in a coma. When he woke up he was unable to walk, blind and 80% deaf.

  • Stan Johnson the trainer of McClellan was a fucking asshole and judging by what I've seen on the documentary tonight is a lot to blame for what happened, just shows you how important it is to have experienced corner men in all fields of boxing including amateur. I wouldn't have thought any referee would let a fighter fight with his gum shield hanging out of his mouth now. Sad to see

  • @AlexiusMoore Its upto the corner to throw in towel. end off.

He lost because he underrated Benn and got his head boxed off. fact

  • Sad to watch this fight, not just for the tragic ending but because Gerald did very little boxing and relied too much on his punching boxer. Benn, who was a formidable champion himself, has to be given credit for exposing that, as well as showing the kind of heart and courage that is seldom seen in the ring, especially nowadays. By the way, I'm an American and I give credit where credit is due; so to all U Brits making this out to be some nationalistic and cultural war...Eat a d*#$!

  • @40ChampagneSupernova I was Talking about Gerald Mclellan not Benn.

Yea i know Benn isnt a bad guy. Gman had a bad reputation, but not sure if its all true

The ref was a complete idiot, its his fault that this fight ended like this. I mean he saw Gerald get hurt from a accidental butt and instead of giving him time to recover he started to count him out and rush him to fight. what a fag

  • @AlexiusMoore. Nigel Benn visited Gerald McLellan and cried like a baby when he met him, then he organised various fund raising events to help Gerald. He was a fighter and when that bell goes its fight to the finish. Benn is not a bad person Nigel Benn meets Gerald McLellan ( Y tube vid) he was not a bad man.He wanted to kill himsel and Geralds family hugged/ forgave him. It's part and parcel of being a top fighter One punch can kill. You have to be prepared to die after 1st bell goes

  • @40ChampagneSupernova. i have the whole fight on my playlist and watched it live at the time.Even Jim Watt (commentator ex world champion) said it should have been stopped as G Man had breathing difficulties and his gumshield was hanging out of his mouth from 4th round, He was four to one on with bookies G -MAN, and thought benn was a pussy, he faught them all- tough guy , I have nothing but respect for G Man, he fell out with his coach and this asshole trainer was a fool.

  • G-Man had a long recent history of cramming himself into 168. He was wayyy too big for the weight class. Excess weight loss has been the determinate in many brain swelling cases. This is part of reason that weighins were moved back 3 days as opposed to same day like years ago. More should still be done to monitor training habits to protect fighters. What Tarver did to fight Hopkins shouldnt be allowed-35 lbs in 6 weeks is insane.

  • @torr59622 .. He had headaches (possible damaged brain) from his previous fight, can't remember who he was.. It wasn't reported to the Doctors as the fight would have been stopped (Don King can share some of the blame) as he would have lost money.

From the 5th round until the 8th Gerald was on his knees blinking (a bad sign) this is when his asshole trainer (never trained a champion in his life) should av thrown in the towel. G- Man tried to take him out early . he didnt want a war

  • What? Headaches? That is bullshit. GMAN hemmoraged for the same reason Jimmy Garcia did-he tried to lose a large percentage of his body weight in 4 weeks. Your body cannot catch up to that kind of weight loss and then physical exertion.

  • @torr59622, The ref can start the count until Benn is back in the ring and he was up

at 9.If anyone is to blame it's McLellans corner who are at fault for not throwing in the towel. (5TH ROUND) G- Man had suffered brutal headaches from his previous fight and it wasn't reported to the British boxing board of doctors or the fight would have been called off.The American's underestimated ben as has a 4inch height@ reach advantage and we'll smash this bum. After 1st round Benn pasted him

  • The fucking REF kills me. Jesus Christ
