!WATCH IN 480p FOR BEST QUALITY!

An instrumental demo I composed under the pseudonym "Kxary". Here is how I composed it:

The melody is completely improvised guitar-playing over a metronome, a constant beat. I then recorded a second guitar track emulating all the notes of the original track. Using my keyboard for live playing, I added a bass drum+snare track, a cymbals track, a bass guitar track, and later, a few toms for one section. I worked in eight-beat sections, improvising the bd+s and cymbal tracks (and to a lesser extent, the bass guitar track) as I went along.

The purpose of this was to see how improvised guitar-playing sounded when all the other band parts were written in to accompany it. I think there's some pretty sick stuff going here. Let me know what you think!

And there's nothing to watch, per se. It's just a picture of a bass string on my seven-string guitar.

  • @1NeilB Wow thanks man! And first comment on this vid, niiice.

  • Pretty cool idea! You did a pretty good job writing in 'accompanied' transitions between phrases - for example, around 4:18. I must also say, your other videos are impressive - mmmmaddd respect for your Meshuggah covers.
