If you don't have to let it sit for at least 8 hours for oxidation, it isn't pure henna. Anything that isn't pure henna can damage your hair, so it's not a good idea.

"Went swimming in a sewer..." LOL! I am a henna-head and I never thought of it that way but it is so true...

@zeldaseven64 I had bleached it in March and dyed it in maybe May with some box color and then did the henna maybe in June. That might have your roots a bit grown out but I would say a month minimum if you're set on trying.

@smixiedee Oh okay thank you:D
But if i bleach my hair how long do i wait to henna my hair?
Do you still dye your hair with henna?

@asq738 I don't. only because my hair isn't light enough naturally and you can't lighten, then henna it all the time... I will definately use it when I get older and my hair starts going gray (I hope it does so I can)

Okay I looked on hennahut... Did you get the red henna or was it just henna? Also I have regular blonde hair and I want to put large highlights of henna in my hair. Is that possible? My hair is in extremely good health. I have never dyed it or chemically enhanced it in any way. I want the same color you got on the highlights.

@WTDuckie this is just the pure henna. and you could do stripes but you have to remember they can't be dyed over. so if you do the stripes then change your mind, you'll either have to let it all grow out or cut it off.

I really, really want to use henna. I'm scared though because if I do dye my hair red, I want it to look as natural as possible (I've NEVER dyed my hair before). Since henna gets richer with each redye, do you recommend sticking to a box? D: I'm so confused and nervous and ahhhhh ><

@Naturaall you can always do one allover dye and then after that touch up only the roots. that would keep it at just the one tint if you don't want to go any bolder. you can also just not leave it on as long and take it slow! :) don't be nervous. breathe!!!
