Grand Concert with mahogany back/sides and top, traditional mahogany stain, tortoise shell binding, diamond fretboard inlays, abalone rosette, Expression System (ES) electronics.

Tonally, an all-mahogany acoustic will respond with an earthy sound that has long been associated with blues and other roots music. Players can expect a dark, throaty midrange punch when digging in, yet there's also an underlying sweetness in that same register that can complement a single-note line. Visually, we've created a look that evokes a throwback Americana style, starting with a traditional mahogany stain, which gives the guitar a luminous deep-red tint. Tortoise shell binding adds the perfect touch of color harmony, while white purfling and an abalone rosette supply crisp counterpoints.

  • I have one, and I think this is a GS model. A WONDERFUL guitar by Taylor.

  • As usual, Mark gives us something to learn from.

I have watched all the Taylor demo videos uploaded by Nstuff. And I confess that I don't like the Taylor Expression System very much [I don't know if the harsh highs come out of the system per se or due to the way that the switches are set]. This is the first video that the Expression System does not detroy the beautiful accoustic sound of Taylor guitars...

By the way, is that a Audio Technica AT 4081?

    Thanks, again.

  • Everybody on the Praise band at my church plays Taylors but I like the sound of Martins better, so I went out at ordered a Martin HD-28 and all I can say is what a great sound. The HD-28 is very loud, but like you said on the Taylor your playing it can be played ever so softly also.

  • I particularly enjoy the non amplified sound. I love my 910 but this seems to have its own magic. Another great demo from NStuff.

  • That's about as good as an acoustic guitar can sound. What a beauty. Great playing too!
