As for "emo", I know exactly what you mean. I've always figured those terms referred to someone's personality, but then if a guy dresses a certain way, they say he's emo. It's hard to figure out what these terms mean since people twist them into their own definitions.

You're both wrong, emo's a subgenre of punk that was created in the 80s in DC. Stuff like Rites of Spring and Jawbreaker and Knapsack.
