  • just out of random curiousity how much does this thing weigh?

  • @uiop988 Maybe 40lbs? The thing is more awkward than heavy. (Mind you, when you compare it to a 2200lbs IBM SP/2, your frame of reference may be a little skewed)

  • @jpkiwigeek, this came out in like 76 too right after the altair, but was it a personal computer?

  • @uiop988 The PDP-11 series predates the Altair, or any PC for that matter - it's a minicomputer, they were designed to be affordable business/research computers (competing with mainframes). The first PDP11 was sold sometime in 1970, and the last model sold in the early 90s.

  • Where did you get the documentation of that system?

  • @DjblMan13 hahaha

  • Those are older models, right? aren't those models that existed like in the 1970's? I always though that PDP-11 was one of the first OS's.

  • I think my brain just exploded :S

  • I used to belong to a 'DECUS' group here in WA. i did have a lot of 11/40, 11/70 and 11/23 boards. Flip chips are cool!! :-)
