Those are older models, right? aren't those models that existed like in the 1970's? I always though that PDP-11 was one of the first OS's.

I used to belong to a 'DECUS' group here in WA. i did have a lot of 11/40, 11/70 and 11/23 boards. Flip chips are cool!! :-)

@uiop988 Maybe 40lbs? The thing is more awkward than heavy. (Mind you, when you compare it to a 2200lbs IBM SP/2, your frame of reference may be a little skewed)

@jpkiwigeek, this came out in like 76 too right after the altair, but was it a personal computer?

@uiop988 The PDP-11 series predates the Altair, or any PC for that matter - it's a minicomputer, they were designed to be affordable business/research computers (competing with mainframes). The first PDP11 was sold sometime in 1970, and the last model sold in the early 90s.
