Feb 18 - A shootout between army troops and drug hitmen alarms local residents in the northern Mexican border city of Reynosa.
Police said ten people died in the gun battle.
Drug-related violence is spiralling out of control in Mexico, and in unrelated protests hundreds of Mexicans blocked roads and bridges into the United States to demonstrate against army operations against drug gangs.

@SagradaMascarita because American's drug habits cause this violence. Personally, I think intense violence specifically focused on our border DOES concern the US. Most of the guns used to kill people are US-made, and most of the product is bound for the US. I am concerned because I feel my country is responsible and we need a genuine cooperative North American solution beyond US govt institutions funneling guns to police and cartels alike and trying to build a wall on the border.
