Shot this tonight through my telescope, from the entry way of my building here in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I overexposed the moon in my camera in order for Mars to show up.

  • how much mm is it on that telescope

  • 910 mm. It's a Skyquest xt4.5

  • It's somewhat rare but not extremely so. Not sure when the next one is. You can find such events using an online planetarium like SkyView Cafe (it's free).

  • Good work filming. The Moon is more than 10 billion cubic miles in volume.

Our Earth has only one Moon but their are almost 170 other known moons.
