Sun. May 19th: Northern California Folk-Rock Festival - Family Park, Santa Clara County Fairgrounds - San Jose, CA
The Doors are scheduled to close this two-day event with a one hour set at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. They come onto the stage after a long day of music and at least ten other bands had played before them. The crowd was a little tired and the band playing in the middle of the afternoon made for a less than outstanding performance that just wasn't received with much enthusiasm. Also performing during the two-day event: The Grateful Dead; The Animals; Big Brother and The Holding Company; the Youngbloods; the Electric Flag; Jefferson Airplane; Kaleidoscope; Country Joe and the Fish; Taj Mahal; and many other lesser known bands.

The Doors were best seen in a darkened auditorium, not on stage in broad daylight.

I was here! I'll never forget how scary Jim was in real life....I was only 13 yrs. old and it was my first concert. I was still innocent then.

ya the new music sucks ..i wish i was born in the 50s ,60s,70s, and even the 80s all had great bands .we need to bring that music back. at least that type of music..

Are you high? Where are there any "festivals" with a bunch of top groups all on one stage? The last time I saw one like that was in the 1970s - CalJam 1 & 2. Santana, Ted Nugent, Heart, all killed. The music biz is too full of bullshit and egos to have great festivals like they did in the 60s.

Harrison Ford was one of the camera ops at The Hollywood Bowl concert early July of 68. I guess Jim tripped that night before going on.
