The Secret Life of the East High Teenager [[chapter 86]]

I decided to go to the park to clear my head. Maybe I should tell McKell that I cant be just friends with her any more. I mean I know I still have to prove myself to her, but I think it would be easier if I was actually with her. I just hate seeing her with Van Dyke. I know they arent dating, but whos to say that they wont?

I went home to see that Van Dyke was up there with my brothers. Ok so now hes in my room? I really dont like this guy. He went to the bathroom and I just couldnt take it.

Joe: Wow that is one classy guy.

Kevin: yeah, but its you that we wish we were rehearsing with Joe.

Nick: and I bet you wish Van Dyke wasnt rehearsing with McKell.

Joe: so he kisses her hand in one scene. Big deal.

Ok maybe it is to me.

Kevin: so you did read a head.

They just gave me an amused look.

Joe: whatever. The point is, what is he doing in our room? This is like sacred JONAS territory.

Kevin: Its not like Van Dyke is going to replace you Joe.

Nick: except for in the play where he did actually replace you.

Kevin: yeah.

Van Dyke came back.

Van Dyke: Yo Dudes, how about we grab some bites.

Nick: cool.

Kevin: Sounds good.

They went and slid down the poles and I just mimicked him. I really dont like that guy. Then the next day I was sitting on the bench with my brothers and they pushed me off when Van Dyke came. And let him onto the elevator and not me. Then they did our signature JONAS walk into school, with Van Dyke, and not me, and he blew a kiss to McKell who looked star struck. Did I mention? I HATE this guy.

It was finally the night of the play. I went backstage to wish McKell and my brothers good luck.

Joe: Hey guys I just wanted to say have a good show.

Van Dyke came over. I rolled my eyes. I didnt want to talk to him.

Van Dyke: Hey, thanks buddy. We will. OK boys, huddle up. Go whacking!

Kevin: Um Joe, this is really weird. I think this is the first time weve performed without you.

Joe: yeah, I guess so.

Mrs. Nark: attention everyone, attention.

McKell and the rest of the cast and crew gathered around. she still looked beautiful with that hideous wig on.

Mrs. Nark: Theres been a last minute change to the love scene between Porthos and Lady b. Instead of a kiss on the hand the school board has said its ok for it to be a real kiss!

WHAT?!?!?!?!

Joe: What?!?!?!

Mckell looked between me and Van Dyke nervously.

Van Dyke: Awesome!

He sprayed mouth spray on Nick trying to get it in his mouth. I walked away even more in a bad mood than I already was. Van Dyke and McKell kissing? And I have to watch it? You have got to be kidding me.


McKell POV
I have to kiss Van Dyke? And in front of Joe? I still love Joe, and he was starting to gain my trust back, and now I have to kiss some other guy in front of him. he wasnt going to want me after that. Why?

Mrs. Nark: CURTAIN IN ONE MINUTE!

I was shaken out of my thoughts by her yelling. I went to my place even more nervous than before. I dont want to kiss Van Dyke. Why did Joe have to quit?


Joe Pov
I was sitting watching the play and I couldnt help but feel sick to my stomach. I could have stayed in the play and then I would have been able to kiss her.

Macey: Popcorn?

Joe: how can you eat at a time like this?

She cowered back, and continued to eat her popcorn. I really couldnt sit here any longer.


Macey POV
I was excited for McKell. She liked Van Dyke at one point, and now they were going to kiss. But then again, I did always like her better with Joe. Oh well, I cant do anything about that. McKell and Van Dyke were starting to lean in.

Macey: Van Dyke and Stella are gonna-

I looked over and Joe was gone. Huh. Weird.

McKell POV
I was leaning in to kiss Van Dyke. I was scared. I didnt want to kiss him, especially in front of everyone, and everyone being Joe.

As our lips were centimeters apart. I heard a NO yelled from backstage. I turned to look and saw Joe swinging on a rope who then knocked Van Dyke out of the way.

McKell: Joe what are you doing?

Joe: Im sorry but he cant kiss you.

My stomach fluttered.

McKell: why not?

Joe: Because this is my role.

He put the hat on.

Joe: Dear Lady De Bona So Delabou, may I have a kiss?

I couldnt hide the fact that I was happy.

McKell: Yes! Uh I mean. Der der, a thousand times der.

He started leaning in and I looked out to the audience. I was nervous. I wanted our first kiss in a long time to be private. But I would take it, because I wanted it. He leaned in and kissed my cheek which was kind of a disappointment, but at the same time, very sweet. After finishing up the play I waited backstage for Joe.
