Kelly Rowland and her 20 singers rehearsing for Clash of the Choirs, a singing competition airing live, Dec. 17-20 on NBC (KPRC locally).

Rehearsal at the Music World/House of Dereon complex near downtown Houston. The same place Kelly worked with Beyonce and Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child.

The concept is intriguing. Clash of the Choirs will follow five celebrity artists back to their hometowns to assemble an amateur choir and prepare them for the on-air competition. Home viewers will vote for their favorite until a winner emerges at the end of the four-night series.

Destiny's Child diva Kelly Rowland will conduct a 20-member Houston choir. Her "individual style and charm will be finessed throughout the choreography, the costumes and her choir's overall stage presence."

Other choruses will be conducted by Patti Labelle and country singer Blake Shelton.
