how did you get it into 1080? mine only goes to 720 D:
-
finally some test footage that does this rig some justice... i've seen people on youtube with test footage that don't even know how to render the HD properly.

@reallkomo try using Sony Vegas Pro 9.0. The program will notice it and import it at its highest resolution.
-
make sure you are editing on a template that is the same or lower quality than your footage is... that makes it even hgiher HD because you are compressing the pixels. to change your template go to file... new and then it will bring up details and at the top it mentions template

yea, why do you say don't edit on a laptop. I edit on a laptop. although I haven't edited the m2ts files on it yet cause I'm using an old version of Vegas pro. I only have 4gb ram

Why do you say "Don´t edit on a laptop"?
-
how much ram does your computer have? And also, considering since the hdr-xr100 shoots in HD, you will have slower editing, because Hd footage is larger and will take more space on your computer to edit. Remember; Don't edit on a laptop, and try to change the preview quality to draft. it will help.

QUESTION:
If i have a Sony HDR-XR100 and when i import my footage into Sony Vegas, my playback on Sony Vegas when editing is not smooth.
Any suggestions?????

xr- you can get more than a few hours off a cx, and the memory card would cost more than the extra few hundred.
HELP!!!! If i were to edit video with this camera what would be the export setting to achieve this quality.

It depends on the program you use. The ultimate settings would be 1920 x 1080. All of the major video editors will export at that. Leaving it in AVCHD format is probably the best idea.

What did u do to do this.Did u just plug your camera into your computer and put the file on your desktop or something.Becuase when i do that it says the file cannot be found can u help

I would suggest using the Sony PMB program that comes with it. Install the CD and the program will take all of your videos and put them on your hard drive. Then just upload the video file. It should have a m2ts file extension.
