  • The bible is a joke. I have read the bible and it is insane. To say that the bible and God are about love is ridiculous. Everyone takes what they want out of the bible. People hate gays, yet in the same chapter it is an abomination to eat a lobster. No one talks about that however. We have gays because the bible makes good people immoral. We don't care about sex before marriage as much as we hate gays, yet a women who has sex before marriage should be stoned to death for it.

  • Forget the bible.

Maturity is a dogma. The insistence that causal effect events have meaning is dogmatic. This can not be proven. To single out one dogmatic system without acknowledging all meaning is dogmatic is selective logic and not consistent.

  • Here's my philosophy.

The earth is a giant sphere and we are on it.

Unconstrained, we can go anywhere and see and do and learn and feel as much as we can take in.

Religion is a man-made box that inhibits us from experiencing all that the sphere has to offer.

Religion is basically FORCING people to behave by using the fear of damnation as a consequence.

You should be a good person because you want to be. Not because you are scared into it.

  • In the original scriptures there are actually about 16 commandments they just whittled it down to 10 for the newer versions.

In the original scriptures the number of the beast was actually 616.

For some odd reason they changed it to 666.

My point being how can we follow instructions from a book that has been modified thousands of times to fit the cultures of different societies?

Obviously we can't follow the part that says "Any man who lays down with another shall be stoned to death"

    can we?

  • Just curious.....what's the deal with the Ten Commandments for non-Hebrews?

  • I like what Paul Chek is doing so I will tell the truth.

The context of the law of old testament is literal, God giving a law (jaywalking) to a nation called Israel for which to rule themselves by. As I am not an Israelite the law of Moses does not apply to me + does not apply to anyone who is literally not an Israelite. Quote "The Lord Said Unto Israel" the scope of law is for Israelite relations with Israelite in the nation of Israel, for all other nations except Israel their is no God's law.

  • Watching these videos as a playlist is like putting my mind in an elimination tournament. Before I recover from the last one, I get hit with something else that rocks me!

  • Somone smart once said "only babies like change." Its unfortunately true for too many but thankfully not for me.

  • the bible is an example. people usually dont investigate what i say, or what paul says ,or what their parents say. they want results, they are in stress so they want results without the deep knowledge.

  • I've read way too much of the Bible. It's an incredibly frightening document and I'm not terribly fond of it actually.

For example, the many references in the OT to capital punishment for misdemeanor or not even modern criminal offenses, genocide, mass-murder, etc....on an absolutely catastrophic scale.

I've read the creation story, I wasn't any more intrigued about Christianity. I don't think it's the one-hit fix this guy says it is.
