Hmmm, we're discussing a point having watched a clip from a comedy which is NOT American. I didn't mention this, but what on earth makes you think people are trying to get 'on the boat' to the US? Maybe Mexicans, But it's an interesting question, which I will happily raise with my American friends that have migrated here - although doing so certainly doesn't convince me think they originate from a shit-hole. I live in cape town and I have friends who do the same, but to say it's an american penchant without having any sort of factual proof is merely your opinion and also a generalization which I do not care to discuss because it is pointless to belabor an issue based on what has been presented.
