  • The frames, probably the best band to come out of ireland in many years. led by a great songwriter with grace, humility and talent, accompanied by talent musicians who knoe their trade well. A band that has been around for a while, with good reason, and will hopefully be around for many more years. One of the few bands that are able to produce songs that have meaning and speak to the the soul. what great music is all about.............the frames

    a derry man

  • U2 became a commercial unit on the outskirts of town (Asda-Walmart) ...The Frames are the corner shop ...warm welcoming and satisfying

  • I have to say this Glen looks HOT here! I just watched it 5 times. Great performance too. That is a given though!

  • love it :)

  • saw them live they are amazing band

  • @beerymon

    well said

  • @MatthijsMMMM yea i agree with you.

  • It depends if they can stay independent or not. I heared the singer once comment on how 'all you need is a loan' and not a record company. Also today you don't even need a physical record anymore but just a platform that spreads your music digitally.

Musical styles in a band will always change, same as people. Really great musicians are always evolving looking for new things to put in their music.

  • Wow...nooo,

I love their music, and Glen Hansard's thoughts about music,

I will always like their music,

But I would not be so proud of it if everybody did,

It's too cliche, and would make me feel like I dont have my own personality.

Now, I would say that missing my point is a sad thing, but I'm not mean :]

  • That´s not quite true. If a band becomes more famous, the musical style can change. OllyTheMagicHobo also says that he wouldn´t like it if they became really famous, but he doesn´t say that he would like the music anymore.

  • so then you don't really like them, you like the idea of them. if you like the music at one point then you will always like the music. but it sounds to me like the music come secondary to the image of the band to you and that is a very sad thing.

  • and Guinness... :P
