  • I supported Hillary Clinton 100% and now I back Obama 100%. He is the one to lead America in the right direction. We need someone who inspires us, not look down upon us. Obama gives me hope. It's time to change America, to take her in a new direction. And for those Republican racists, open your mind. This election shouldn't be about race, it should be about who can lead America to prosperity once again. The answer is clear, it is Barack Obama. Go out and VOTE!!!

  • I was at the Sunrise, FL rally (on this video) last night and missed the ad. So glad to watch it now! What a positive message! I saw McCain/Palin on TV today spreading their hate, intolerance, and lies. The contrast couldn't be more stark! Please, God, let Barack Obama win... Our country is so angry and divided. The Republicans will only make that worse. Obama will lift and unite us as a nation and restore our standing in the world!

    God bless America!

    God bless Barack Obama!

  • What an asshole.

  • No. The original Greek word in Luke 14.26 is "miseo," meaning to love less, which is translated into "hate" in a number of English versions. The use of the word "hate" to mean "love less" is used frequently in the bible, as any scholar of Theology, or well-read and edcuated layperson, understands. You are either deliberately - or clumsily - misinterpreting the language to suit your own ends. It would be good for you to read a bit more widely and challenge your own views - this is how we learn.

  • "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters--yes, even his own life--he cannot be my disciple."

He was encouraging his disciples to be martyrs for the Kingdom of God on earth and he was prepared to use provocation.

His goal was the overthrow of Roman rule and a Jewish state.

The Zealots were in a political alliance.

  • "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn "'a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law--a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.' Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me."

Modern day jihadis are exhorted to do the same thing.

  • These things you speak of are not in any way what Jesus preached - you have completely misunderstood/don't want to accept his message. I am still waiting for one shred of evidence to back up your claim that Jesus taught hate of family and supported terrorism. The actions of later extremists who committed immoral acts are due to their human weaknesses, not Jesus's teachings. Your lack of understanding is really quite staggering. It seems you have a one-track mind.

  • What? Where is your evidence that Jesus taught his friends to "hate their friends and family"? Give me one example in the bible of Jesus saying ANYTHING like this. I guarantee you cannot. I must say that your summary of what Jesus stood for demonstrates a real lack of understanding of the facts and many of your claims are simply fanciful.

  • The Christians and Jews later launched a holy war against Roman rule in Palestine and later Christians and Jews living throughout the Empire launched similar terrorist attacks including the burning of Rome after Israel was destroyed.

Of course the Christians gradually converted the Romans just as the Muslims are trying to convert Europeans and Americans.

Just as the Christians blamed Nero for the burning of Rome, Bush is blamed for 9/11.

  • Jesus teached his followers to hate their friends and family and follow him, to give away all their wealth and take up the cross and follow him - like Al-Qaeda. Jesus was a hardcore religious fanatic and psychopath. The dude was deranged and mentally ill.

He died not for our sins but because he was a political leader who wanted to set up the Kingdom of God and started a rebellion when he trashed the temple hoping to stir up the mob but it backfired.

    Like jihadis today in Iraq.

  • Christianity is based on the teaching of Jesus, not the Old Testament. Please tell me an example where Jesus preached any of the things you say religion represents? Evil? Murder? He didn't. He preached love, forgiveness of others and redemption. You clearly need to learn more about the textual content of the new testament. That SOME subsequent flawed humans have interpreted wrongly for their own ends the message in the New Testament does not change that Jesus stood for love and good.

  • You don't believe in defending freedom, democracy and human rights? You are a fool.
