In the episode the parting of the ways. Rose (the 9th doctor's/10th Doctors companion) looked into the heart of the TARDIS, and destroyed the daleks but brought Jack back to life (He was exterminated by Daleks) but accidentally made him become immortal.

Similar plot to the Christmas Invasion except it's only children, and the DOCTOR'S NOT THERE. If there's one torchwood episode when they actually need the Doctor he's not there.

Children of Earth: Probably the best sci-fi I've seen in 20 years. Thanks Russell! Truly outstanding. I raced to the store to buy it after watching it on Netflix. Definitely a keeper.

no, he was only 30 yrs old when he met her and the Doctor. After he was resurrected, he aciddently went back to the past (1800s) using his Time wrist (which broke) and joined Torchwood then.

In the Doctor Who Series 1 Finale, captain jack was exterminated by the daleks. Then Rose looked into the heart of the TARDIS and resurrected Jack, but made it that he can't die.
