  • You also said that if Christians follow one part of the Bible, they should follow all of it. If you have a concrete example of something that is bothering you, I'd be more than glad to address it. One must take the Bible in its historical context as well. Also, it is good to keep in mind there is a difference between what the Bible records historically and what the Bible supports morally. Half of the objections I hear seem to stem from that problem.

  • @NamelessUser13

Stalin was an atheist. He killed 20 million Russians in an attempt to rid Russia of religion and keep his power. He burned churches, starved his people, persecuted many belief systems.

  • @LordGorse

Well...when I say extreme athesist I mean someone who hates anyone who believes in God and wants to kill them. That kind of extreme. Like the extreme where religions start war. You know? And I'm getting lost in all theses comments...lol, so I might not reply to them all cause I can't find them.

  • @favoritedeadpeople And I completely agree that politics and religion should be kept seperate, but that can be difficult. For instance it is a statistical fact that many religious people would not vote for someone who does not believe in god. That scares me.

  • @favoritedeadpeople Well, okay, extreme dieting is only dangerous to the individual who is dieting; that I can live with. What about extreme Buddhists? ;) Seriously though, I consider myself an "extreme" atheist in that I don't believe in the supernatural at all due to lack of evidence, but this isn't a belief, it's based on facts. There is nothing at all dangerous in that. When we're talking about a religion or political party it comes down to ideas and opinions; that is where the danger lies.

  • @LordGorse

I am a bad speller.....so ignore that. lol

  • @LordGorse

Humans don't, so that's why war and law should not be based on the bible...politics should be kept seperate. And being extreme in anything is dangerous! Extreme dieting, extreme christians, extreme athesists, extreme any political movement...becuase extremists don't even consider others' thoughts. Ang agreed, dangerous things should be frowned on. But if i want to read the bible and go to church that's extreme or dangerous, so why shouldn't I be able to?

  • @favoritedeadpeople Being extreme in anything isn't dangerous now is it? If an individual believes that an all powerful supernatural force (such as a god) wants them to do certain things, that is potentially dangerous. Any thought process where reason is not a factor should be frowned upon. As for correct interpretation of a religious text, who gets to choose what that is?

  • Excuse the spelling mistakes!

  • (part 2)

so it has the most followers....so it has the most extremists....(that just makes mathmaticly sense.) Christians are taught to be peaceful, but the extremists just ignore that fact....and become extreme in their actions....and Yes that is dangerous...but being extreme about anything is dangerous...I just believe that if I want to believe in God and I'm not shoving it down anyone's throat or hurting anyone I should be able. Just as you're allowed to believe what you want.
