I got my wisdom teeth removed on 2/15/08, and when I woke up I was incredibly disoriented and high from the stuff they gave me to put me to sleep. This is the first time in my life I have been under the influence of anything and it was AWESOME

@chris35128 Not at first. The anesthesia lasts until about an hour after you wake up. Once it starts to wear off, you a feel a slow throbbing in your jaw that slowly builds and gets worse and worse. I recommend you have someone go to the pharmacy immediately after dropping you off to pick up whatever pain killers were prescribed. The pain will continue for however long it takes to get the medication. One percocet or vicodin should take away all pain within 20 minutes, so after that it's fine.

did you get a morphine drip? all these people got a morphine drip and theyre sayin how they passed out but morphine isnt supposed to make you pass out... i got a morphine drip and nitrogen for mine and for like a thousand other dental surgeries after i got in a car accident and i never fell asleep or got all retarted....

@nickandlindsie I didn't get a morphine drip, and you're right, morphine is an opiate and makes pain go away but doesn't necessarily put you out. I got nitros oxide to calm me, which didn't help all that much, and then I got the IV to put me to sleep, and then as I was being put out I got shots of novocaine into my gums to numb that up. That's something different though, not morphine.

ohhh i'm so scared about waking up in the middle. and the pain and the throwing up. i've thrown up in the past from anesthesia because they gave me crackers and apple juice right right afterwards.

i just got mine out today. It was weird because 1st it was 10:30 AM and I just took my sedative and I blinked and i was in my bed at 2:30 PM. Apparently I didn't do anything awkward except I was bobbing around in my chair like a blind person. Now my whole bottom lip is numb and because I cannot move it I look like a perv with rabies.
