The final match of the 1971 PBA Firestone Tournament of Champions. Top seed Johnny Petraglia faced 1970 Tournament of Champions winner Don Johnson, who bowled a famous 299 for the win. This match was not quite as exciting. Part 1 of 2.
5:02 - they show the leading money winners...Earl Anthony #2. I sign of things to come. As much as Petraglia dominated the winter tour, Johnson dominated the rest of the year and ended up being the Bowler of the Year.
I take that back. I should not have said "never", but from the tournaments I have watched on ESPN the past few years, and I do watch most, it is seldom a pro plays such a different line on a pair. I think Ryan Shafer did a couple of months ago in the tourney Norm Duke won, beating Walter Ray and Shafer.

are you serious? You are completely wrong about today's pros never having to play a different line.

I wonder if Chris and Billy ever took the Petraglias up on their offer.
