While Eric Burdon has had some amount of hits and success over the years, I think he is much much bigger in the musical book than what he is actually remembered or credited for. Huge. The Animals were better musicians than most any groups of the 60's. The bass in Monterey is nothing short of spectacular. I am a fan. Long Live EB.

In my opinion, it never really worked,when they tried to get too musically close to the hippies..I mean, even the hippies LOVED their old style and, I do believe, so did the rest of us... In MY opinion, they should just have continued, a little, in their original version, because it pleased so many people, even the most fore-fighting hippies. When they heard their songs, they stopped, what they were doing, I´ve seen it with my own eyes! And I was BORN in 1968! :-) And I´m soon turning 45!! :-)
