They are right about its not as hard as you think, its really all a mental thing. When you get there its going to suck and its going to be hard in the sense that you are basically worthless once you are a recruit at Parris Island. Its going to be physically demanding at times and its always just going to suck. Sure when you get out people would say its not really that hard because that's what everyone says once they have gone through it but when you're there its pretty tough.

in the marine corps band members drop there instruments and get deployed. I would maybe do something alone the lines of security or something like that. 0352 Anti-tank Missileman which would fall under Infantry but you can be 1800 Basic Tank Crewman which is not under Infantry

I'm poole and i ship out in march. I just graduated from high school. I also play the trumpet I was 5th chair symphonic band my senior year. I'm didn't choose band as one of my options but i think i want to try and see if i can make it. The only problem is that i my private lesson teacher at the time was telling me i need to change my ambisher so i can get more range and endurance and better tone in the upper range (5th line f# and up) do you think i have a chance of making it.

I would say try and get an audition. If have to go through an over the phone audition first before you can get a live audition so I would say just make sure you know you're scales and work on sight reading as well. Sight reading is 50% of your audition anyways and I'm just going to assume that you have some type of prepared piece you can play that you've played in the past.
