  • I really enjoy your videos. I have 2 Concours 14s, an 08 with ABS and an 09 with standard brakes. I have put about 7000 miles on the two bikes, mostly commuting, and I agree with everything you said. I am definitely overdue for a trip up PCH from Los Angeles to Monterey.

As far as height issues go, I am 5' 8" with a 28" inseam. I seldom ride a bike that I can put both feet flat on the ground. One foot is sufficient, but I admit that dirt bikes are more challenging.

  • @werogers49 Thank you for your kind words and taking the time to comment. Two Concours's? Most of us would settle for one. One foot on the ground is ok depending on the skill level of the rider, I've found. We are all overdue for a ride up PCH - even if we were there last week. (we weren't) Wondering if we should suck it in and try it in the Winter with the naked, and I do mean naked, 2011 BMW F800R. Many videos coming soon! MVR

  • Great series, thanks. I am 5'10" tall so really not a short person and when I sat on a Concours I could not have both feet on the ground since the seat height is 32.5" otherwise from what I have read about it I would buy one today even though that would be a big change from a cruiser to a sports touring bike. When I did some research I found a lowering kit but it only lowers it by 1" and this may be something that a lot of people consider who are even shorter than me.

  • I wouldn't touch the suspension or setup of a bike with this performance - it's serious. You don't want to screw up the control of the bike. I wouldn't go any further than changing the seat to somehow do the same thing. Huge difference from cruiser to Con! MVR

  • You are easily the most enjoyable commentator I have experienced. I cannot emphasize this enough. This is the bike for me, complete in most respects and very forgiving to most riders. But, your smooth riding and calm delivery through all weather conditions seals it for me. This is far superior to the canned reviews from the magazine punditocracy. Thanks so much!

  • Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! We do this for free at this point so your comments help keep us going. We hope to expand and do much more. It's hard with the condition of the industry, but we are pushing ahead. Bill MVR

  • Nice test, I can feel the bike like I am riding it!

    Thanks

  • Excellent video series. I have an 08 that I got in July of 07. The only real problem I had with mine is the bad stock tires. The BT021 tire is not sutiable for the bike. As they wear it gets hard to turn the bike and they wear very fast. I would like to know what set up you have for your GPS mounting. All I can find is the center mount and would prefer a bar mount. Again thank you for the very nice, enjoyable and informative series you have put together.

  • Really nice videos! Thank you. The Kawasaki Concours 14 will be my next bike I own. Here in Scandinavia the Concours is called GTR 1400. Ride safely.

  • excellent series! I'am a zx12r owner before that I had a zx11 ,and I'am seriously considering adding a concours 14 abs 2011 to my staple. My dad owned a 99 concours the both of us put some serious miles on our bikes. Sport touring bike is my next logical step from the big sport bikes.

  • Very nice videos. You certainly make the bike look so comfortable. I was leaning toward a GL but I am really digging the Concours! How would you compare the 14 to the older Concours if you have experienced the older ones.

    Thanks again.

  • Love it! Thank you so much.

  • A most enjoyable review style and a great road.

If I may ask, what audio/video setup are you using? I love the ability to make commentary while also getting an audio queue for sense of the road and image stabilization was superb. Do you mind telling?

  • Excellent review!
