  • They never went to jail, because hosting downloadable content to copyrighted material in Sweden is not against the law.

  • @dannywithnoodles Where can I read about this? o_O

I can't find anywhere stating whether they served time or not.

  • and of course 6.5 million american dollars isn't as much as 6.5 million euros

  • @n1GibsonGuitarist My point is, that people who would buy music despite pirating still exist in vast quantities

  • @TheTigerStrike but for new bands they can struggle cause they arent selling much. And the record companies prolly look at these bands thinkin that they arent goin anywhere cause they have nothing to show for it. And of course the beatles sell well on itunes....theyre the best selling band in history and most successfull... and they didnt get that way because more than half the people pirated there music

  • @n1GibsonGuitarist That really has nothing to do with the argument that I brought up. And, they'd probably be bigger because millions of people still do buy music, like myself. Do you know what the sales figures were when the Beatles came on to iTunes despite people already owning CDs and pirated copies of their music, in better quality to boot?

  • @TheTigerStrike Do you think The Beatles would be where they're at today if there was digital Pirating in the 60s? Record sales does matter alot

  • @n1GibsonGuitarist It sort of does. It increases the range of people who will hear their music and as such, increase ticket sales of their concert

  • @TheTigerStrike well it dont give the bands the credit they deserve

  • @n1GibsonGuitarist >Implying that the creators of the content are even affected by that

  • @tigerwhite007 piracy increases sales huh? explain the low amount of album sales the average band has? you rarely see 10mil record sales anymore. Piracy need to be gone
