Ok I guess I have more questions about rpgmaker 3. How do you make it acknowledge game completion and how do you only fight bosses once instead of them always being there?

@Meuhcoin yeah I pretty much came to the conclusion that your thumbs will fall off your hand if you don't have a keyboard plugged into your PS2...I was up practically all night trying to finish my 12 page prologue =(

Thank you so much for this. I just ordered this game online. While I wait for it to arrive it might be good to have a basic idea of what I'm doing.

@bizzard12 A normal PC keyboard will work as long as it's an USB keyboard. If yours has a round plug, then it's a PS/2 keyboard and it won't work on the Playstation 2 (which is confusing, I know, but that's how the connector is called).
I have a couple questions about rpgmaker 3 for p2.
First: How do you make it possible to name your character? It's default is the name of their class.
Second: how do you make the game differ between losing and winning? I want a separate game over message when I die from the game over msg you get if you beat the game. Right it it doesn't differ between dying and winning.

@gettingpissedoff 1- There's a event you can use to allow the player to name the character. If you mean naming the character yourself, well, you can do it as soon as you create the character.
2- I don't know if it's possible. But as long as you make a storyteller or something like that that makes it clear that the player won, I think it will be okay!

Hey man, I'm sure many people have already asked but if you could re-illiterate for my sake I would appreciate it. I'm trying to create my own story but it takes excruciatingly long because I have to scroll manually with the PS2 controller so it takes me a long time to type stuff. I heard you can plug a keyboard into the PS2 port and use that but the one I have has a round port...is there a USB adapter that can link my keyboard to the PS2 port? I need a faster method of typing...thanks!

@TequilaAssassin4eva I think you can buy PS/2 to USB adapter (yes, "round port" is called PS/2, and has nothing to do with the PS2), but I don't know if that will work. I know regular USB keyboards work perfectly though, so you can either try to find a cheap adapter and see if it works, or just get a cheap USB keyboard just for the PS2.

@Meuhcoin I see...and these USB keyboards will plug directly into my PS2 port with no problem or will I still need an adapter of some kind? It's too bad I just cant buy the round port adapter and pray that works but if what you're telling me is true then I don't wanna risk buying one and be let down if my keyboard doesn't register. Thanks man.

@TequilaAssassin4eva The PS2 has USB ports, so you can plug an USB keyboard directly into one of them.
