  • anyone know a ballpark price on how much it would be to make this a dual sport? (streel legal)?? thanks!

  • @zmh1988 This is the SE version, so it's already street legal. The S version is street legal (e-start added in 94 for "SE")

Making a dirt only DR350 street legal is not trivial in most states. The cost of the parts is not that bad (tank, mirrors, signals, etc ≈ $200), but passing inspection is usually nearly impossible.

  • @entoptics thanks for the info, it was very helpful..so it comes street legal right off the floor? Also, I am 5'10" 200 lbs. Would that be an alright fit for me? I'd be mainly riding around the city, smaller highways

  • @zmh1988 Two DR models. DR350S = street legal, DR350 = dirt only. E-start (SE) was added to the street models in 95. Even if your DR350S has been modded to illegal, it is still easier to get a plate than a dirt model that's had all "legal" mods added. Inspectors tend to pay attention to the VIN number more than the actual features.

Your height is good for the DR, your weight may require stiffer springs if you ride offroad agressively (used = $100, new = $250). Relaxed pace stock is fine.

  • Hey did you ever find the reason for your bike to sound like that? Mine sounds the same as well. Also does it hurt the bike to run like that? I have a DR250D .

    Thanks -John

  • @flybike20 From my understanding, it's not abnormal. This video was several thousand miles ago, and the bike still runs fine and sounds the same.

  • sounds rattley, sure you did it right?

  • same.

  • @entoptics Thanks!! LOL I tought it was a valve or something. Now I can get riding again!

  • It is the automatic cam chain tensioner. Suzuki's are bad about this. I had the same problem. Order a manual cam chain adjuster for about 50.00 from APE performance. A very quick and easy fix. You do not need a new cam chain
