Baji quan system has 2 Pigua forms in it. The forms are a combination of Pigua zhang and Baji power.

Master Zhou explaining a few Baji-Pigua techniques. Here are a few applications for the techniques taken from the form.

It's over exaggerated in order to be clear. One should not expose his back to his enemy. It should only be used as a deception for a friction of a second.

  • All these techniques look good, but in a real fight, most of this will be forgotten or not be used. Most people will either freeze up or fight like retarts. Even if the techniques work perfectly, it does not guarantee that the attacker will stop fighting.

  • @ktl2828 You are correct, it's better to do nothing, death is imminent, we will all die sooner or later.

  • And.... What if the guy attacks with his left fist instead of his right one?

  • Than you do something else

  • Yes!!! thx !! This is real martial arts~~~

Its not only fooling the enemy but this master

is real top sifu as I observed that he blocks

enemy's attacking limbs - palm block, and even

his footwork- foot block the enemy's

stance too~~~ He tells hitting at points that no many master say nowadays.

Anyone who can learn from him is a fortune!!!!

I admire the one demonstrating with him~~~

  • Thank you for you compliments, Master Zhou is truly a great teacher.

  • @ktl2828 even though i think the way he's showing of pigua here is a bit wierd, especially because of the long range, i can assure you that pigua and baji are excellent for as you put it "real fights". Although to practice fighting you need to well... fight. Both baji and pigua, when taught as close range fighting systems, and you practice adrenal stress, scenarios, is definitely useful and not something you forget in a altercation. Not sure this short clip is a good representation though.

  • These techniques are good if the other person is cooperating with you. I like to equate this to Pro Wrestling. Pro Wrestling moves look good because the two wrestlers are in on it to "Sell the Move". In a real situation, people are unpredictable. You can't expect to attack a person who is a foot taller than you the same way a person a foot shorter. Training to defend yourself requires you to think and react on your feet according to the person and situation.

  • yes and what happens when you do this against somebody who actually holds their guard up.

  • @Antilli For some applications this can present a problem, but the defense he is using does not require one side or the other. Technically, it is easier to perform on the other side. Regardless, the reason he uses the sweeping arm block is because it can be used against pretty much any strike. If his opponent chose to do something abstract/not-applicable to the blocks shown, it would be slower or overly complicated, and thus easier to avoid. That is why it is shown with a straight punch.

  • @coachsudan Also have to consider GONGFU (Conditioning). When a true Pigua person who has done the CONDITIONING (iron arm, waist turning speed and power, stepping etc) blocks you its a devastating blow compared to you just watch the video and go try in a fight.

  • @ktl2828 Nonsense. These are principles being shown! Principles showing lines of attack n counter. N coincidentally these moves actually resemble "fighting like retard" - wild swinging, but WITH SKILL N POWER. You get good fast n accurate with this you will catch enemy totally off guard. Master Zhou never told him to stop here. This's just the idea. You then take this n drill it in Sanda n the random variations come out as u gain the SENSES. If dont do this, its not the methods fail, its YOURS.

  • @bodo69 he is being sarcastic ¬¬

  • @ktl2828 Dude you practice the art to perform good techniques so you don´t freeze or forget it. It´s common sense you won´t learn for shit if you just watch the video, you must live with the art and practice it and you will do it as a normal thing in a fight.

  • @jingang

but how if at the time "our life is worth to fighting for"?

  • @KingJohnGalba Those people are the people who don't train seriously and base their opinions on Youtube
