  • @samirbalonmano ..... Just because I am the router that is sending this information does not mean that I am the default gateway

  • @samirbalonmano..... When you are using a router as a DHCP server, look at it like this..... I am Router 1 and I am sending out information for Network 'A'. Any one that is requesting an IP address on the 'A' network, than I will send them the information that is needed to perate correctly on that network. Now you the Network Dude configures these settings. So I will configure my router to send out 1)>IP Address, 2)>DNS Servers 3)>Default Gateway.

  • I'm also confused, shouldn't default gateway be 172.16.1.1???

  • The gateway he configured is 192.168.1.1 but his pool is 172.16.1.0/24 ??
