Mario Clash is one of the few "uncommon" Mario titles out there, but that doesn't mean it's worth tracking down. I don't think it's quite as bad as it's typically perceived, but it's nothing to get excited about either. It's kind of a bit of a re-imagined take on the original Mario Bros. (The "Arcade" game, not Super Mario Bros.).

Mario climbs a Clash Tower and must defeat all the enemies shown during the level intermission (not necessarily all the enemies). Different enemies have different methods of fending you off and you have to beat them accordingly. Some require you to topple them first while others may need to be hit from a certain angle. You go to bonus stages every so often to earn extra points and 1ups. The game is basically endless.

  • Actually, There are 99 Levels in total.

Also a rumor about an ending

  • @TheDARKYOSHI64 The rumor was stated to be false by a member of Planet Virtual Boy and once you get to the last level, the game loops back to the first.

  • Developed by Nintendo R&D1, Mario Clash is a 3D re-imagining of the original Mario Bros. arcade game. A Mario Clash microgame appeared in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames! for GBA (also developed by Nintendo R&D1) and its remake Mega Party Games! for GameCube; it is one of 9-Volt's microgames consisting of classic and obscure Nintendo games.

  • Best console ever (not kidding)

  • I actually totally dig this old school 2d sprite animation stuff.... Too bad it's in period blood red color only.

  • @FrogJam95128 Why is the Game Boy all green? It isn't a colored system.

  • Sorry for sounding like an idiot for asking, but are all the games in color red for virtual boy?

  • Ahora veo xq fracasó el virtual boy... con esos juegos mejor seguía con SNES

  • @copypastecopypaste Yeah! It would be nice for this to be on the virtual console for the 3DS with a bit more coloring than Red & Black.

  • If there's a game on the virtual boy that I love the music, It's this one.

  • @Vysethedetermined2 So it's an endless game huh? Man! so NES Related. Like Ice climbers and Wrecking crew.

  • fuck erbody i loved my virtualboy!
