@HotnessSearcher18 It's not a double-standard, it's meant to protect the prostitutes who more often than not are being forced by pimps and trafficers. This law protects the prostitutes from further victimisation (i.e. prison sentences), but keeps the rest illegal.

It’s not a crime to sell sex here in Sweden, but to buy sexual services is a crime. It’s a good law. This has since it was adopted by the parliament in 1998 effectively reduced the sex industry and trafficking. The ones that should be labeled is not the one who sells sex, but the one who buys!
prostitution is the worlds oldest profession....
