Drawing the human head, the basic under structure used to draw a head from any angle in 3d.
Show notes: As the head leans back, this line here, is going to divide the circle in half from to top to bottom, you are going to be seeing more of the top half than the bottom so you want to bow this line out because you know your going to be seeing more of the top side. You've quartered the sphere. This line is going to determine the angle the front divide is going to take. You want these two lines to be equal distances apart at all times. These lines are handles that allows you to start drawing in full 3D. The chin area here if from where this line drops down. Instead of guessing all the time you can follow these rules to determine for sure where the parts of the head should be drawn the be true to 3D perspective. After you determine the divide that separates the front and back of the head, you know where the jaw line starts. If the head is at such a great angle that you you can't see the upper parts of the head, you can look thought the head and use these guides to know for sure where all the parts of the head should be. The points where the nose comes off the face is from here. The brow stars here. If you looking at the face from the side you can use this line to know where the cheek covers up the total view the the nose. You can take the same measurement up here. The hair line is up here. At ¾ view you draw the nose here, a wedge shaped box shape. For the lips, divide this in half but this measurement varies more than others. Draw the head from any angle this way. Front of the head, back of the head, side of the head, head seen from above or bellow.

@solrikben he delivered his tutorial fairly well. he wasn't showing you how to fucking use different techniques, he was showing you human anatomy.

nice explanation of something hard to explain.. I think to do this tutorial successfully, the students should know all general facial anatomy proportions.. otherwise this helps none :(

That was really helpfull. The speed let's it get through really well. I think I've got some key features of the head that I haven't had before. And now I'm going to get a drink and watch ur animation. Have a nice year.
Oh and, one tip if you're going to do anymore vids: make a "to-do-list" for the vid. Like...draw circle, draw axis, move the axis...Stuff like that. Cross out each step that's done and circle or underline the one ur going to do next.

Really interesting way to break down the head. Plus the music at the end is quite interesting. What is it?
