LCpl. WATSON, FRANKLIN NAMON, age 21, of Vonore, was killed in Afghanistan, Saturday, September 24, 2011 while serving his country in Operation Enduring Freedom. "Frankie" was a 2008 graduate of Sequoyah High School and a 2009 graduate of the Cleveland State Police Academy where he also attended college to study Criminal Justice. He was currently employed at the Madisonville Police Department. His law enforcement career began as a part time deputy with the Monroe County Sheriff's Department. LCpl. Watson enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 2010. Survivors: mother and step-father, Stacy and Jack Couch; father and step-mother, Troy N., Jr. and Katie Watson; grandparents, Troy N., Sr. and Edith Imogene Nash Watson; aunts and uncles, Valerie and Rick Kirkland, Norman Virgil Watson, Sheila Whitaker, Laurie and Tim McDaniel, Norma Renee Watson, Jana and Joe Stakely, Susan and Darrell Atkins, Donna and David Bookout; extended family, Lowell Russell, Cory and Crystal Russell. Preceded in death by grandparents, Birch and Joyce Walker Shell. Funeral 8:00 p.m. Sunday, First Baptist Church of Madisonville, Dr. Lon Shoopman, Rev. Greg Watson officiating. Interment 10:00 a.m. Monday, Hiwassee Church of God Cemetery with full military honors. Rev. Murice Watson will officiate. Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Madisonville. Friends may call at their convenience at the church after 1:00 p.m. Sunday. The funeral service will be streamed live over the internet from www.fbcmadisonville.org . The funeral procession will travel from the funeral home to the cemetery on Monday.   • Thank you for this video. We were down in front of Ingles. It is so great to see so many videos coming in from all over It just shows how loved Frankie was, even by people that didn't know him. RIP Frankie.
