How to attack a Highway bridge starting from a red light with a Low Racer? Just spin out up to 130 RPM before the bridge and try to maintain that cadence up to the top...then enjoy

A lowracer or bent with a seat reclined below 23degree is about as faster or faster than a TT bike, but a TT bike is so uncomfortable and unsustainable position, when on a bent you can keep teh aero position undefinitely and enjoy the view and the speed.

  • @dou40006 if I could just about get to 50kph on a DF what would be my approximate top speed on this wearing lycra?

  • @TimpBizkit

Recumbent like this ones are quite fast indeed, a DF would have hard time to keep pace, and with a head wind forget it.

  • I like seeing these recumbents wound out. It's annoying when I watch videos and all people are doing is riding around slowly and I'm really interested to see the speed advantage you get from not sitting up in the wind.

Thanks, that is my intention, it is a very first trial, just got it this week. I am lucky enough to ride in very nice area so I want to take good quality video of my best riding area. Also to fight some common shortcut ideas about recumbent and lowracer, like "bent can't climb" "low racer are poor climber" "long crank are not ok for spinning" and others. My computer is a CatEye Strada

  • Whadda Bugga.

I keep looking for a vid camera and the Go Pro HD keeps popping up. Teasing but the quality is definitely there compared to your poor ol' handy cam.

Nice bit of performance you have too but I couldn't quite catch the computer you're using. Seems very easy to read even without my glasses.

I think you should go out a bit more with the Go Pro and post more vids. Looks interesting.

    Rick.
