My second Idaho fishing trip was to the Middle Fork of the Boise River near Atlanta, Idaho. A great time to go is late summer when the river isn't flowing so high.

  • I catch brown trout quite often next to eagle island state park in the channel and on the main river

  • I agree with snakepimp! I really doubt you caught a Brown in the Middle Fork! I have fished there for 20 years and never once caught a Brown trout! Lots of Bulltrout, and a few Cutts.

  • Hey Idaho Chas, sometimes that river has cutts too, in high water years, maybe it was a yellow-ish cut.? Nah, had to be a bully if it had any size on it, but mos' def' not a brown, sorry mtnhomeman. Thanks for respecting our stream though, I can tell you do.

  • its a great river to fish for sure. but i hate to break it to you....there are no brown trout in the middle fork. you probably caught a big old bull trout. they dont look anything like a brown, but thats all youll find in there for trout. bulls and rainbows.
