@Edgrr that's where i'm leaning

The comments here seem to prove the point that his platform is a non issue with voters. You are all talking about hid position on social issues when above all else, it's the influence of money in politics that must be addressed and solely why Roemer is running - to draw attention to this important issue.

@ClaireConrad I love him more than Paul. But in Paul, I see a greater chance for the achievement of the kind of things that Roemer is all about, and that's the way I'm voting.
-
@ClaireConrad I'm not taking away from Roemer, by the way. I love Roemer deeply.

@ClaireConrad be a religious (see: imaginary) contract that had no bearing on finance or law, carried out by the church. I, personally, think this is the best solution to the problem as well (although I maintain that the the Constitution itself should be amended to disallow any legislation concerning sexuality)
TL;DR Ron Paul's crazy religious views are not as threatening as they seem when you get to know him.

@ClaireConrad regarding sexuality. I disagree. I think there should be an amendment to the constitution that declares absolutely that ALL legislation on every level should be blind to sexuality. On the other hand, I know for a fact that Ron Paul believes that marriage should not be a function of the state, meaning that it would no longer be possible for heterosexual couples to be "legally" married. They would have the same exact legal contract as a homosexual couple. And their "marriage" would

@ClaireConrad I feel pretty sure that states that allowed abortion would be better off in every sense than states that didn't, and Ron Paul's beloved sense of the free market would demonstrate that as much as anything. So I don't fear him in that regard.
As for gay marriage, he obviously has no problem with it. He feels that it's the relationship between a man and a woman because of his religious upbringing, and he doesn't think the federal government should be involved in any legislation
-
@ClaireConrad authority of a state to decide how to enforce any federal law on abortion through the votes of its people. They say it effectively defeats the point and purpose of a federal mandate, which is true. I know it's not the best stance, but it also shows that he's reasonable and willing to reach a compromise, that he doesn't want to outright impose his beliefs, and that he fundamentally doesn't believe in the federal government's authority to implement these rules absolutely.

@ClaireConrad I'm extremely pro-choice and pro-homosexual rights and I trust Ron Paul. As to the pro-choice issue, I will admit that Ron Paul's stance on it bothers me, but at the same time, I can understand the idea behind it-- he sees the unborn child as an individual. In that light, I don't see it as an evil on his part, but as a misguided sense of good, inherited by his religious beliefs. But on the other hand, I like that he's been taking heat from pro-life groups because he defends the
