@riderpoet I agree with you there! The pilot should never have attempted that last roll at such low altitude as anyone could see what the result was going to be and yet another beautiful WW2 aircraft gone forever! Funny how they always try to blame things on aircraft un-serviceability in these cases.
I don't think a damned thing "went wrong with the aircraft." I think he thought he could pull off just one more roll, and didn't realize just how close to the ground he already was.
After the 1st roll something went wrong with the aircraft. He tried going level but watch the video closely and you'll see the aircraft's strange change in behavior exhibited by the off-balance rolling early on in flight, after 2nd roll at time position: 0:14 and at that second if paused just right, 0:16 you can see L aileron stuck full up, R aileron level.
