  • My sister died three years ago of Lukemia. She came home to die-two weeks of holding her, not able to drink 2 spoons of water. Her beautiful body only weighed 70 lbs. She took a bath two days before she died. She cried out in pain when her toes were touched; her breating was shallow;she was blind in her artist eyes.I prayed to God to let me give her half my life, but God did not let me. She said "I take so little from this world why can't I have a few more years" She broke my heart. I've changed

  • I love this song, means a lot to me. It reminds me of a friend who's on drugs and I'm desperately trying to get him to stop. But I can't do it. I sent him the lyrics to this song, and he's on the road to recovery, thankyou Tracey Chapman for your beautiful music. xx

  • @SpruceRidgeInn There's no god to let you do anything. You are free, and so is your sister. I am sorry for your loss.

  • I heard this song for the first time, right after my dad passed away. It was at a bar, my mom and I ordered dinner after we left the hospice. I almost felt like my dad was talking to me, and felt this immense feeling of peace. Like I knew he was finally painless, overflowing with happiness, smiling down at me. I've handled it pretty well, but most nights I cry myself to sleep. Thank you Ms. Chapman for helping me carry on, reminding me of that immense peace, of the words he wanted me to hear.

  • My heart aches for your sisters pain and your tremendous sorrow...I pray in time that you will be able to hold the beauty of the life you spent together as tenderly as you held her those last days.

  • hermoso tema

escuchar la letra y entenderla es algo ke es impresionante creo ke es uno de los mejores temas de tracy

  • I love the guitar in this. her voice is so powerful.

  • It seemed to me to be written for America on the occasion of Hurricane Katrina, which was happening just as it was released.
