  • Great Video!

"Guns don't kill people, people kill people."

Yeah, but why not take their gun away before they kill people?

I'm with you on this one. Religion belongs in a museum. It's time to move on.

It does much more harm than good in my view. If they aren't using it to justify killing, they are using it to form an "elite" group they are part of to seperate themselves from, and feel superior to the "rest".

However Buddhism's not too bad, if you consider that a religion.

  • I just want to first start out with that I totally agree with you on your quote however I am a firm believer in our 2nd amendment rights.

"Yeah, but why not take their gun away before they kill people?"

Because, "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns."

A gun has a manual and laws to cover it. It always has. To use it for anything save self-defense, defense of your nation in regard to the laws of the state or providing food is wrong: Period.

  • Im not trying to be adversarial but I cannot agree with your comparison.

  • If guns were to become useless by some means of new technological or social advancement i would be among the first people to put mine into a display case or melt it down.

  • If the ownership of guns were only allowed to the elite or were to separate people into groups by their very ownership or right to ownership I would agree with your comparison.

I too like Buddhism however it is not without its dark side regardless of whether I call it a religion or not: Which I don't. ;-)

Thank you very much for your compliment BTW. :-)

  • Thanks for this idea, you have definitely given me something to think about!

  • Great! :-)

  • Love the analogies

I chose to cease following any kind of religion by the age of 13 (my parents are STRONGLY religious and still seem like they haven't forgotten...)

I tried conversing about how morals didn't come from any book, that if it did, humanity itself would have been dead long ago (put it this way: Adam existed, but did not have any morals once he moved away from God. His lack of morals, plus a high level of curiosity (i mean, everything truly WAS new) and longevity bores him of Eve...

  • But you are the Freeman! You might need your gun to defeat the Combine!

  • I wouldn't take their gun away, that restricts freedom, creates obsession and frustration.

    Make jail-time longer >:)

As for the video, it was a nice idea.

Religion is truly something to be admired and feared. It is a work of art that involved every part of the human thinking, to create. However, it's useless now.

so people: just put it down!

It was fun while it lasted, but now it's time to grow up.... god's the ultimate santa claus.
